Race The District Returns to Union Market District with Go-Kart Race Track and Live Performance by Louis The Child October 9–12 Union Market District in partnership with Events DC is bringing back the city’s most electrifying weekend. After a successful debut in 2024, Race the District returns October 9–12, transforming the Market’s parking lot into a high-energy outdoor racetrack. The thrill goes beyond the track this year with a major headline moment: electronic duo Louis The Child will bring a live block party performance to 5th Street (adjacent to the Market) on Saturday, October 11, presented by Nü Androids. “Union Market District is always buzzing—with over 200 retailers, thousands of residents, and millions of visitors, it’s a place where something exciting is always happening. Race the District takes that vibe to a whole new level, turning our parking lot into a full-on racetrack. I can’t wait to see the neighborhood rev up for a weekend of fast-paced fun and unforgettable memories,” said Jodie W. McLean, CEO, EDENS. Drivers of all skill levels (minimum height requirement 58”) can hit the track for 15-minute races designed for fun, competition and memory-making with family and friends. Beyond the races, the weekend takes on a festival feel with live music, entertainment, food and plenty of activities for all ages — making it just as exciting for spectators as it is for drivers. “We are thrilled to bring back an amazing celebration of Washington, DC and Formula 1 racing culture with Race the District at Union Market District,” said Events DC President and CEO Angie M.
