EDENS Launches “Union Market by Design: Room Service,” Celebrating Design, Style and Inspiration as Pillars of Union Market District Beginning Friday, October 10, the former Motel 6 in Union Market District will be transformed into a design showcase. Over two weekends, a stellar lineup of interior designers, craftsmen, home goods purveyors, and artists (listed below) have been given the keys and full creative license to transform their rooms. Ready to check in for D.C.’s most unexpected design experience? “Room Service” is part of Union Market by Design, an on-going series of design-focused events and activations. Each room takeover tells its own unique story and offers distinct style inspiration; together, they form an immersive experience brimming with the potential of spaces reimagined. Across the street and down the block from the motel are apparel, home and lifestyle-focused shops and services as well as some of DC’s very best restaurants and gathering places—all meeting the needs of Union Market District’s rapidly expanding community. “Union Market by Design reinforces our vision of this neighborhood as D.C.’s design hub—standing alongside dining, entertainment, and everyday services as a core pillar of the community,” said Jodie W. McLean, CEO of EDENS. “Union Market has long been a destination for food, art and culture, and highlighting design is the natural next step in our commitment to creating a place where people can gather, be inspired, and celebrate beauty in everyday life.” Our curated list of participants include: Chela Mitchell Gallery Creative Buildr Studio Danielle Naeve Design + Capital Creatives D.C.
