EDENS, a leading national retail real estate owner, operator and developer, announced a 10,634 square-foot expansion of Publix at Trenholm Plaza. The expansion will increase the anchor retail partner’s existing footprint by nearly 30% for a total of 48,547 square feet. Construction will begin in January and the expanded store is expected to open in late 2023. Publix will remain open during construction.

“Publix is committed to providing premier customer service to our customers,” said media relations manager Jared Glover. “A larger store will allow us to best meet the needs of our customers and community with expanded services and quality foods.”

The major expansion of Publix comes on the heels of several recently completed and announced additions at Trenholm Plaza. Sephora and HomeGoods opened their doors this fall and in early 2023, Bath & Body Works will open. Ivy & Leo will relocate next to Kendra Scott.

“This expansion represents an exciting momentum at Trenholm Plaza,” said Lyle Darnall, managing director at EDENS, “EDENS is proud to steward this beloved retail center in our hometown of Columbia, SC, and is excited to continue to work alongside Publix and our retail partners to offer this community the very best retail offerings and experiences.”
