ATLANTA, Dec. 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — EDENS, one of the nation’s leading private owners, operators and developers of retail real estate, is excited to welcome Henri’s Bakery & Cafe to Andrews Square when it relocates in spring 2017.

The move from its current location at 61 Irby Avenue, NW, will bring the iconic West Village bakery into a center that has recently undergone a series of enhancements, including the addition of new retailers, to create a vibrant community marketplace. As importantly, the Andrews Square location, which is within walking distance a few short blocks away, allows the celebrated bakery and cafe to continue to serve the neighborhood it has called home for decades.

“It’s important that Henri’s is part of the Buckhead Village,” said owner Madeline Leonard. “We love this community and the special place Henri’s has in it. We’re excited to relocate to a location that will allow us to continue serving our neighborhood that has so wonderfully embraced us.”

Henri’s will continue operations at its current location at 61 Irby Avenue and will transition into Andrews Square in the spring. The bakery will be located off the courtyard, on the east side of Andrews Square on Cains Hill Place.

It’s the next chapter for a storied Atlanta institution that first opened its doors in 1929, founded by Leonard’s grandfather, Henri Fiscus. Henri’s has been in business for 88 years, remaining family-owned. This Buckhead Village location and its sister shop in Sandy Springs are renowned throughout the Greater Atlanta area as must-stops for famous desserts, sweets and sandwiches.

“At EDENS, everything we do underlines our central purpose to enrich communities. Bringing Henri’s to Andrews Square and helping preserve its legacy and its role as an anchor of the West Village, is a natural fit for our mission,” said Herbert Ames, EDENS Vice President – Southeast. “We’re thrilled at the opportunity to work with such an Atlanta institution. Henri’s is a perfect addition to the exciting evolution of our center and the West Village.”

With the Andrews Square renovation, EDENS continues to foster the local character of the center and its shops. Henri’s Bakery & Cafe offers a new authentic flavor to the center, alongside other Buckhead favorites Lucy’s Market, Boxwoods Garden & Gifts and Poppy’s Boutique.
