Fort Lauderdale, FL, — EDENS, a leading national retail real estate owner, operator and developer, announced today that it has acquired Shadowood Square, a 254,943 square-foot retail property in West Boca Raton, one of the fastest-growing submarkets in the Miami MSA. Anchored by Sprouts Farmers Market, Shadowood Square is situated at the dominant intersection of Glades Road and US-441/SR 7, with 75,000 vehicles per day and where more than 1,000 new high-end homes are expected to be delivered within three years. As a result, the significant development and population growth in West Boca Raton has created an increased demand for modern and relevant retail experiences. “Shadowood is an exciting addition to EDENS’ Florida portfolio. Following on the heels of our redevelopment of Lakeside Centre in Central Boca Raton, we look forward to revitalizing and transforming this corner of West Boca in a way that resonates with the local community and reflects Boca’s unique energy and aesthetic,” said Nicole Shiman, senior vice president at EDENS. “Redevelopment plans will draw on our deeply rooted placemaking philosophy to deliver a curated and elevated destination to the Boca community.” Cushman & Wakefield’s Miami-based retail investment sales team of Mark Gilbert, Adam Feinstein and Mitchell Halpern represented the seller in the transaction. With this acquisition, EDENS now has 11 retail real estate assets located in the greater Miami area, including Lakeside Centre (Boca Raton), Fifth & Alton (Miami Beach) and River Market (Ft. Lauderdale). EDENS successfully redeveloped Lakeside Centre in 2019 and River Market in 2014 and looks forward to sharing redevelopment plans for Shadowood soon.
