This weekend, at Mosaic District, we celebrated the life of Representative Gerald Connolly. 🕊️ It was an honor to be joined by members of the Connolly family.

It’s hard to imagine that 15 years ago, this place was not a place. With an old multi-plex cinema and mostly industrial uses, it was in dire need of a fresh perspective. It was Gerry Connolly, then on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, who instead of accepting the reality of a suburban wasteland, saw potential for something better: a vibrant canvas for community, commerce and human connection. An inclusive place for a variety of businesses, opportunities and interests.

Today, Mosaic is a fully realized neighborhood and thriving community, where we can see Gerry’s foresight and vision on every corner. Gerry was a terrific partner to EDENS, for which we will always be grateful. 💟

That’s a wrap! Our 14th annual Sunday Supper event is a mission accomplished!

Sunday Supper at Union Market celebrates the collaborative and welcoming spirit of this uniquely inclusive community in DC’s Ward 5. It’s a fantastic opportunity for lively conversation around ways to make our food scene more dynamic and equitable, while delighting in the incredible talents of our featured chefs and makers. 👩‍🍳 👨‍🍳

Once again, we reached our fundraising goal to support our current beneficiaries: the James Beard Foundation’s Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership program, the Lee Initiative and Regarding Her. Check out these organizations to learn more about their impactful nonprofit work. 🌟

ICYMI: Our own Nicole Shiman and Mark Doster met up with CBS Channel 12’s Katie Bente to share updates on the massive refresh happening now at Downtown Palm Beach Gardens.

“Since our acquisition we’ve signed 13 new deals,” Doster said. “You see everything from soft goods, women’s fashion apparel, men’s apparel J.Crew Factory, which is a very exciting new national tenant...Pura Vida Miami is under construction at the moment.”

One of the biggest upgrades? The lawn. What used to be blocked off is now open — and already being used for movie nights and live music.

“We’ve been having events there and activations, and there’s more to come,” Shiman said. “By this summer, you’ll see a whole set of furniture placed on that lawn, big lawn games, and an opportunity for families and people to come and engage at all times.”
