Milestone in Motion: EDENS Expands National Footprint

Share

In San Diego, CA, EDENS recently assumed stewardship of The Shops at La Jolla Village. Meanwhile, 2,300 miles away in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, we now oversee Downtown Palm Beach Gardens. These strategic acquisitions contribute over 580,000 square feet of grocery-anchored retail property across two major markets to our expanding portfolio. Our coast-to-coast growth continues unabated!

A leader in retail, with a one-of-kind perspective in creative placemaking that drives authentic human engagement, EDENS owns and operates more than 14 million square feet of open-air retail and mixed-use assets in 13 major U.S. markets. In 2022, EDENS achieved a historic milestone by expanding our portfolio to the West Coast—the first time in our 58-year history that we ventured beyond the Rockies and the Lone Star State.

With our latest acquisitions, EDENS now owns and operates $810 million in assets in South Florida and $1 billion on the West Coast.

“The growth of EDENS’ national portfolio is a strategic move, reinforcing our commitment to establishing quality, community-focused retail environments across the country,” said Jami Passer, EDENS’ Chief Investment Officer. “Conveniently located near everything La Jolla has to offer, with its own residential component, we eagerly anticipate stewarding this thriving center into the future.”

“These acquisitions underscore EDENS’ commitment to creating welcoming and thriving retail places that serve as the ‘living room’ of local communities,” added Nicole Shiman, Managing Director at EDENS and South Florida Regional Lead. “Downtown Palm Beach Gardens is an exciting addition to our South Florida portfolio and first step into Northern Palm Beach County. We are excited to bring the vision for this property to life.”

The Shops at La Jolla Village are anchored by Whole Foods, Nordstrom Rack and CVS. Originally constructed in 1979, the property was renovated in 2016. Downtown Palm Beach Gardens is anchored by Whole Foods, REI and Lifetime Fitness.

Originally constructed in 2005, the property is undergoing an exciting transformation. Redevelopment efforts underway include a new vehicular cut-through and building pad for a future hotel. With EDENS carrying out the completion of this work, these additional enhancements will elevate the overall experience for retail partners, visitors and the community at-large.

With expertise in all aspects of commercial real estate, EDENS’ in-house leasing and property management teams will ensure these assets continue to thrive well into the future, driving increased foot traffic and longer dwell times, further enhancing the customer experience.
