EDENS recently launched the city of West Ashley’s next chapter by inviting the community to the future site of Ashley Landing for a project kick-off celebration. We have not slowed down since then! Construction is well underway, and we look forward to sharing our progress.
“This is going to be a transformational project for a long, neglected part of our city,” said Charleston Mayor William Cogswell, signaling the start of a $345 million investment in West Ashley. And as the Post and Courier recently noted: “Ashley Landing is a roadmap for managing Charleston growth.”
From public comments and partnerships to meaningful place-naming, EDENS has been committed to creating a destination that transcends transactional visits. Our goal is a mixed-use place where routine trips become so much more: moments of connection, belonging and community.
It’s an investment of emotional connection, where people come together routinely to create new friendships and new meanings in life.
A highlight of the event was the unveiling of street signs for Ashley Landing designed by EDENS that pay homage to Charleston’s history and heritage. This isn’t just wayfinding, these new street names exemplify the identity and pride of West Ashley—deepening a sense of place with emotional connection:
With these meaningful street names unveiled, Ashley Landing further cements its role as a place where community, history and growth converge in the heart of West Ashley.
